What you can say to St. Petersburg City Council

Here's what I sent them:

"
Hey folks..

The guys who own the Baywalk aren't guaranteeing that they'll invest 6 million into baywalk. They're saying "up to (6 million)". Even if they were guaranteeing it, why are you intent on selling out the freedom of your constituents by "vacating" the sidewalk there? This would set a very bad precedent in St. Petersburg. This move to give public space to private interests, just so you can keep certain people out of that area, reeks of racism and corporatism. In America, our public servants are charged with preserving our freedoms.

Please don't sell us out.

Free Speech under Attack in St. Petersburg, FL

The city of St. Petersburg, FL wants to "vacate" the sidewalk in front of the Baywalk shopping and entertainment plaza so the owners of Baywalk can decide who can and who can't use that sidewalk. This is a selling out of citizen's rights to free speech and assembly.

Tell the city the First Amendment is not for sale!

Bankrupt? Get another Credit Card!

"Bankrupt? Get another Credit Card!" -- this is the advice you would get from someone who seriously wants you to fail.

By bailing out the banks, that's what the bought-and-paid-for "representative government" in Washington is doing. There is an energy that wants the government of the United States to fail. In its official absence (there is a valid argument that it is really already gone) rich crooks would rampage over the land without anyone to stop them. Expenditures on wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have been instrumental in damaging America too.

Both political parties are guilty of this. Both are horrible but the "Republican" party is clearly the worst. Evidence is their desire for no regulation of business, including businesses that have weapons.

Both parties are representing corporations instead of us.

Corporate Government is Fascism.

Fascism is bad.

They force us to pay taxes, then they give the money to their corporate buddies, often for the purpose of dumping explosives on women and children, so some rich crook can make a profit. It's freaking sick.

This is not what America is about.

America is about the declaration of Independence and the Constitution including the Bill of Rights.

We Want it Back.

Message to President Obama:

Please stop giving our money to rich crooks.
Please stop wasting our money and lives in these wars.
Please arrange things so we can build a clean energy economy. This does not mean coal or nukes.
Please put bunkhouses with soup in our cities. No-one should have to sleep under a bridge in America. No "great country" forces its citizens to do that.

Limbaugh TV Appearance discredits CNN, FOX and the Republican Party

Most Americans are not stupid, hateful or intellectually lazy enough to fall for the purile, misinformed tripe that spews forth from black-shirted Rush Limbaugh.

For those who are, I urgently encourage you to LEARN.

Read "It Can't Happen here" by Sinclair Lewis (1935) and see if any of that seems familiar today.

Learn about Father Coughlin and Joseph Goebbels.

Another publicly visible figure who vehemently hated "liberals" was Adolf Hitler. Why is this?

A Limbaugh in political office would be a tragedy for human beings everywhere. It would certainly mark the end of America.

Dear President Obama: Use the SUN!

I just wrote the President a quick letter at http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

"
Dear Sir,
The solution is right in front of us: the Sun.
We can rally the efforts of our nation in the creation of a smart energy infrastructure based on solar-generated electricity and hydrogen batteries.
It would put the country back to work.
It would make grabbing the Caspian Region unnecessary.
It would help us prevent the melting of Antarctica and Greenland and the resultant flooding of our largely littoral civilizations.
Please be the first President to not just go with the flow, and give us some meaningful policy change.
Use the Sun!

With Respect,
Mark Frankenberg
"

Another thing I could have added was the fact that we don't have to buy the Sun from anyone (this is why nobody in the commercial media is talking intelligently about it).

Oath No Big Deal?

The Oath of Office is extremely important in all positions of public trust. I suspected that Roberts tried to trip up the new President a couple times while administering the oath, with the "faithfully" screw up, the "President to" wtf and the "so help you god" add-on. This doesn't make Roberts look Dumb, it makes him look deceitful.

The Constitution says that a president-elect becomes the president automatically, at the stroke of noon on the appointed day, meaning that Barack Obama had already been president for a few minutes by the time he took the oath of office.
