Tom Delay Indicted

My question is, why did the Corporatists keep him until now? Oh, never mind. I just answered it. He is charged with using Corporate money in his campaign. I would suggest that you mention this to everyone you see for a couple weeks. I will.

Delay's replacement is Roy Blunt.

His district in southwestern Missouri includes Branson, a town of a few thousand residents that draws millions of country music fans each year to its performance stages.

In 2002, Blunt helped insert a provision benefiting United Parcel Service and FedEx Corp. into a spending bill for the Iraq war. His son, Andrew Blunt, is a lobbyist for UPS in Jefferson City, Mo.

Blunt also tried to help tobacco giant Philip Morris in the 2002 homeland security bill by amending the measure to stop the smuggling of contraband cigarettes.

At the time, Blunt had a personal relationship with a lobbyist for the company, Abigail Perlman, who later became his wife. The congressman denied any undue influence and said neither his son nor Perlman ever lobbied him on the issues.

A second son, Matt, was elected governor of Missouri last fall.
