There are artificial differentials today that damage our economy. One is exemplified by the "Drug War", which takes things that in a natural market in a free country would be legal, cheap, and not that pervasive, and creates an artificial value elevation based on the threat of fines or incarceration, which motivates entrepreneurs of questionable character to encourage unwitting victims to buy the stuff.. hence my belief that the "Drug War" in its current form is one of the worst influences in the world today.
